Seriously, Dreams, Knock It Off

I've decided there must be something wrong in my subconsciousness. I constantly have really bad dreams. The last one I told you about was humorous but also quite violent. Violence and death seem to be my dream theme as of late. I constantly have dreams that someone is trying to kill me, and I have to run away. Sometimes I dream that I am the scary one. The other night I dreamed I was a murderer, and the night before that I turned into a monster (or something else really scary - I couldn't see myself) right in front of my niece. It scared her and she started crying. I was only trying to hug her, but my appearance scared her half to death. Last night I had a dream that my husband divorced me and wanted to marry one of my best friends. (That one had a happy ending though, thankfully. He changed his mind and got back with me in the end.) Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night needing to piddle, but I am just too scared to get out of bed (at which point I make Mark get out of bed and walk to the bathroom to turn on the light for me, or else I start crying (I'm totally serious about that)).
Do you constantly have dreams that scare you? Or is it just me? Does anyone know any "mother tricks" to help me have better dreams more often? It makes the days a lot harder when I don't get very good sleep. It's a good thing I don't have kids, or I would be one cranky mama.

Relationships - Your intimate relationships and your daily interactions with people can also be a source of your nightmares. Marital difficulties or pregnancy are other possible causes.. You may be paranoid about how your think others perceive you or fear that others do not understand and see who you really are. Isolation and unhappiness may appear in nightmares as abandonment and loneliness.

hmmm... I'm not going to lie. Pregnancy was the first thing that came to my mind ;).
I used to be terrified night... not for any particular reason, but one thing that did help was
Alma 37:37

p.s. don't eat too late... that can cause bad dreams too

Maybe it's something in the air. I've been having really really weird/frightening dreams since the beginning of December. Hmmm.

It may be too much stress. I dunno. I recently read a news article that talked about nightmares and stress was the number 1 thing to cause them. Here's not the exact article I had read before, but one that says pretty much the same stuff: http://abcnews.go.com/health/Story?id=4954892&page=1

I hope things get better.

I sometimes have Nathan use relaxation techniques to help me fall asleep. Stuff like, "You're walking through a cool forest . . ." I don't know. Maybe something like that could help you relax enough while falling asleep that your dreams will relax some, too.

P.S. I love that Nathan commented on your blog, but he's never commented on mine. What a dork of a husband.

Just before you fall asleep, as you're laying there with your head on your pillow, just after you say your prayers...think of a world of ponies that eat rainbows and poop butterflies. That always makes me giggle.
